Frequently Asked Questions

What is functional ageing?

Functional ageing is preparing your body for the years ahead. Enhancing your ability to perform daily activities and maintain independence as you age. Performing movements that mimic the activities of daily life (ADL) such as squatting, pushing and pulling will enable you to get out of the chair unaided or unscrew the lid of a jar in later life.

I’m a Level 4 CIMSPA Personal Trainer with over 25 years of experience in health and fitness. My education covers a wide range of areas, including oncology, pregnancy, menopause, and chronic conditions such as back pain, obesity, hypertension and diabetes. I’ve been training for 30 years — basically a lifetime of cross-training before CrossFit was even a thing!

I believe that staying curious is the key to growth, so you’ll often find me reading or researching the latest in exercise science and physiology. Keeping myself informed means I can consistently give you the best guidance and help you achieve lasting results.

My approach is all about empowering you with the right knowledge, support and guidance. I offer coaching tailored to women’s health, including pregnancy, the postnatal period, peri- to post-menopause and osteoporosis.

We’ll work together to build your confidence, help you understand your body and find strength in a way that feels good for you. I want you to discover that exercise and movement can be enjoyable, sustainable and a real source of energy, giving you the confidence to handle everything else life throws your way.

As a woman and a certified Menopause Movement Coach, I truly understand the unique needs that come with midlife and menopause. I specialise in fitness designed to support women through peri and post menopause and beyond. Women have completely different hormonal systems - simply put we are not men with boobs and tubes - so its essential to work from a female template

My approach blends functional training, mobility work and restorative movement to help you rebuild strength, boost your energy and future-proof your body so you can feel confident and capable every day.

I specialise in strategies for most chronic conditions such as arthritis, back pain, diabetes, obesity and hypertension, to improve mobility, regulate blood pressure, reduce pain and enhance quality of life.

Is exercise safe for me?

I conduct a full health screening along with various fitness tests with all new clients. This allows me to establish your current health status in order to prescribe safe and effective exercise. If you have any injuries or medical conditions, we will discuss how these may impact exercise prescription and appropriate modifications will be provided.
